Ann Miller, D.D.S.

After growing up in Huntington, West Virginia, Dr. Ann attended Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio and graduated with a B.A. degree in Anthropology/ Sociology. She then went on to dental school at the Medical College of Virginia which is a part of Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. She graduated with a DDS degree in 1996.

In 2002, Dr. Miller opened her own general dentistry practice, Miller Family Dentistry.   Being a wife, a mother of 3 young children and running a fulltime business, she was tired, exhausted, lacked energy and her body hurt all the time.  All medical test proved she was in excellent health, it was just the grind of daily life.  She tried some alternative medicines and naturopathic therapies.   Some helped, but nothing seemed to really work.  It was just going to have be the way of life, or so she thought.

Always striving to do better and learn more, she is a vivacious seeker of continuing education and happened upon a “new” class examining sleep apnea and dentistry.  Not knowing anything about sleep apnea, it was a challenge to learn something different.  This course was a life changing event, both personally and professionally.  Dr. Ann realized that she, herself, suffered from a sleep disorder and that she did not need to go through life feeling exhausted and in pain for the rest of her life.  Being treated with a sleep appliance was a turning point both in her life and her career.

A few years later and with more education classes on Sleep Dentistry under her belt, Dr. Miller attended a course investigating children and sleep disorders.  Again, the light bulb went off as she realized that her youngest daughter, who was 5, also had a sleep disorder.  Getting her daughter treated and seeing the immense improvement in her own child has made Dr. Miller an advocate for teaching people of all ages about sleep disorders and treatments available.

Dr. Miller has been treating people with sleep disorders within her general dentistry practice for many years.  In 2020, she opened the Dental Sleep Center of Chambersburg to help those people who suffer from sleep disorders realize that there are alternative treatments available with the hopes of improving their quality of life.
